Welcome to this first post. This is an experiment of sorts as I work through trying to really bring CBS' Bar Mitzvah program into the 21 Century. I've always tried to stay a bit ahead of the curve regarding technology in Bar/Bat Mitzvah education, starting back in 2000 with using CDs instead of tapes for the Trope Class, creating a web site with streaming audio at that time as well. The technology has barrelled along, and with the advent of mp3s and iPods and the like, fewer and fewer people even have access to cassette players anymore.
I plan on podcasting Sunday morning trope class each week to enable my students to download and listen to each lesson, so even if they must miss class, they still have access to not only the tropes and blessings, but the class itself. So, if it works, and if people like it, I will continue this blog beyond 2007. I will also use this blog to post information about the bar/bat mitzvah program in general, scheduling, days off, etc. So please stay tuned and subscribe to the content so you stay up to date!
